Located in a converted 1970’s ranch with an original settler’s cabin for the control room, the residential studio is private, remote, in a majestic setting, and incredibly quiet.

And miles away from light pollution, the night sky becomes its own show.

The property sits on 12 private acres, at the end of a mile-long sand road. Step out of the house, walk North and there is not a single human-made structure for miles.

We invite you to focus completely on your music, surrounded by inspiring vintage instruments, an ATC powered control room, fields of boulders, and no distractions.

The area was once a giant outdoor film set for Westerns in the 1950’s; now home to a thriving creative community in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable, it is ideal for endeavors which benefit from quietness and serenity.

The live room is connected to the control room via Dante; 16 channels of Neve and Focusrite preamps.

The control room is twenty feet away, in the original settler’s cabin, with an isolated overdub/keyboard booth and has vintage preamps, (4 x Neve 1073’s, 4 x API and 2 x Great River). Monitors are ATC (SMC 150ASL + sub), Barefoot MM27 and Yamaha NS10’s. Mics are from Neumann (U67), Coles (4038), Lomo (2 x 19a19), Electro Voice (2 x modded ribbon), Royer (R121), Soundelux (e47 and U99), Beyerdynamic (M160m M250m M500), Shure (57, 58, Beta), etc.

All the vintage instruments, amps and recording equipment from Rare Book Room’s Brooklyn studio are here too, ready to find the tone you’re looking for. Pianos, guitars, Wurlitzer, Rhodes, 1950’s Lowrey tube organ, Leslie cab with ¼”, Fender and Ampeg amps.

While feeling like it is on another planet, the studio is only 2.5 hours east of Los Angeles (lax) and an hour north of Palm Springs (psp).

Monitors are ATC 150ASL with subwoofer, converters are Burl Mothership (x16 in and out).
